About Genna Pinto
I am the owner of Compass & Wings Wellness. My background in wellness started at a young age playing sports and starting yoga at age 10 per the guidance of my mom. Although fearful of the dark room and being the only pre-teen in the room, I persisted and went back for more. I continued practicing yoga in high school and during my time at UT.

After my days at UT I returned back to NJ and studied Mental Health Counseling at Columbia University. I spent time working with Super Storm Sandy victims, Eating Disorder and Opiod patients, this taught me the importance of advocacy. For the last 5 years I have been a high school teacher in Biology and Family & Consumer Sciences.
In addition I was a high school and college Cross Country and Track and Field coach for 5 years. I led my high school Track and Field team to State and State Sectional Titles in 2018,2019. Strategic Athletic Coaching and Mindful Competing were two mindsets that I bring to my class and private training settings. Finding integrity and purpose in each individual no matter where they are in their wellness process or path is a priority.
I knew in 2018 there was a greater calling for me. I began my yoga teacher journey and never looked back. Since then I have added Reiki and JOGA for Athletes to my trainings. During Summer 2019, I knew it was time to open a community yoga studio of my own. One that caters to all who seek self care and meaning in the services provided, but, most of all belonging a place of community. The Sunsphere at 810 Clinch Ave was the perfect place. Thinking back to the purpose and meaning that building had in 1982, community, understanding and innovation, this was the best community space to choose. From students, to first responders, to corporate employees to school teachers and nurses, giving all to practice yoga and wellness with a purpose.

We hope to see you a Compass & Wings Wellness for a Class soon at 810 Clinch Ave at The Sunsphere!
