What it is:
Kundalini Yoga is referred to as the Yoga of Awareness. Over 5,000 years old, Kundalini Yoga is a technology for maintaining balance in body, mind, and spirit. In 1969, Yogi Bhajan introduced Kundalini yoga to the United States and today it is practiced around the world.
What it does:
Regular practice of Kundalini Yoga will strengthen the Nervous System and the Circulatory System, balance the Endocrine System, and release tension of the Muscular System. Kundalini Yoga techniques may help eradicate emotional blocks and ease the mental suffering of trauma. This form of yoga will also expand the lung capacity, strengthen and tone muscles, and nurture a sense of self-awareness.
How it does this:
Kundalini Yoga combines conscious breathing, guided movement, meditation, simple postures, stretching, sequence, rhythm, and sound to affect one's metabolism. Modern science shows that a regular practice of yoga and meditation balances the brain hemispheres and regulates the metabolism.
To prepare for your private Kundalini yoga session, please:
Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing
It is best not to be too full or too hungry
Come properly hydrated
Let your instructor know of any health concerns and past and current injuries.
Nicole Fey is a certified yoga instructor by the Kundalini Research Institute. She has been practicing and teaching yoga for the past 12 years. Motivated by her own struggles with depression and anxiety, and subsequent recovery, Nicole is passionate about teaching the technology of Kundalini Yoga to those that strive for a happy, calm state of mind. Nicole is a Holistic Health Counselor and uses her broad base of healing modalities as a Personal Trainer, Nutrition Counselor, Reiki Master and Feng Shui practitioner to help clients uncover their true essence and potential, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
I've learned so much from Nicole's Kundalini classes. the last class was amazing, I sweat, moved, and felt alive in my body while at the same time felt free of a body at all, pretty amazing....
During a recent class with Nicole she encouraged the class by saying how the work will make us stronger for life's challenges. I realized how yoga can be a practice that helps with inner strength, and a clearing out of negativity. Nicole's yoga class teaches you to be strong and self reliant. It also helps to clear your mind so when you leave you feel very happy.
